To do so, the platform leverages data from commonly used mobile health applications. Midwives, an undervalued but essential part of healthcare services, are a a major target. Every day 800 women and 14,000 babies die from complications related to pregnancy and childbirth, so. It is therefore crucial to improve the knowledge and resources that midwives can use.
Initial goals are to reduce maternal mortality by improving midwifery practices and to boost HIV treatment adherence. Tools include behavioural predictions and nudge recommendations. The first trials were conducted in Ethiopia in partnership with the Maternity Foundation.
